Ask any JW: in all of your studies, was there EVER a time when Jehovah aligned himself with falsehood? The answer will be a consistent "no." Logic, then, says that if the Bible Students had god's unconditional approval then?and Jehovah doesn't change?whatever they did, believed, and taught THEN should be okay NOW.
since 1919 is one of my favorite arguements with jw;s . i will remember this line. the best part is next to no active jw has any idea what they were teaching at the time. and since they can't back it up . they are false3 witnesses in the name of jehovah... john

arguing with a dub....or....how I learned to be apostate and love it
by undercover inrecently, a jw relative tried to discuss my "spiritual well-being" with me.
i have had conversations in the past with this same relative concerning 607 vs 586/587 and 1914. no matter what i said, it went in one ear and out the other.
it was like talking to a brick wall.

undercover; you put them in thier place and they will not forget it . they can't deal with facts. if i was you i would call them and press them some more. now that you got the upper hand. after they run out of thier little speeches, they are dead in the water. jw's find very few people that can refute them. thats why at every chance i lay it on thick. it's so easy to make a jw fume. great work john

i figure the protest will end at about 1:00pm.

Ever catch a "priceless moment" on video?

one of the first things i did was pulled out my video camera and start videotaping the place.
my ex was in the kitchen and she decided to make the first meal on our stove.

i have one in a photo; while at disney years ago my 4 year old son said daddy i have to pee right now. i said ok go pee behind that sign over there on the grass. someone walking bye said take a picture, tha sign said this is a kodak picture spot. so we have a great picture of my little son pee-ing under this sign. truely a kodak moment. it's so cute/ and funny at the same time. john

Are JWs "Approval Whores"?
by Scully induring a quiet moment at work the other night, i picked up a back issue of o magazine, one of the current quintessentially authoritative journalistic voices of the modern north american woman.
it was the december 2003 issue, and i was intrigued by the title of the article: "the halo effect" which promised to examine the condition of 'being too good' for one's own good.
the preamble contained the phrase "self-sacrificing" and i was immediately zapped by that standard jw buzz-word and the article's suggestion that being "self-sacrificing" is not all it's cracked up to be.. you can read the article here: stop seeking approval.

scully; EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!. it's funny i've been calling my dad a wt whore for years, same as i call meter maids, or police that are only looking to give out that ticket being a whore takes on many different faces. maybe that's why i'm not well liked in many circles or jobs. i rather stay home alone than walking around with my nose up somes butt. great post. johnny

it announces shane brady of georgetown (bethelite) as the winner of the probone award for 2004. i'll let the announcement speak for itself.. .
what burns me is that the brady is on a vow of poverty, and gets his marching orders from bethel.

What's the real reason behing these MAN presses?

i asked an elder, and he said, first of all to cut down on manpower, secondly there's more demand.
is there really more demand?

good post cyber: i would guess. it costs the wt @$10 a day to feed a bethelite, &100 a month pay, and $50-$100 a month for room exp. remember all this property is owned staight out, and tax free. i don't even think the wt pays tax on ultilities . i think it cost the wt 5000-$7000 per bethelite a year even if we take the high # of $10000 a year thats only $192 per week now how many hours a week do they work 40-50 thats between 3.84 and $4.80 an hour. but if you just take the pay it's like 50-75 cents an hour. i think a prisoner in jail get close to the same for working in the licence plate factory. also with free room and board... john

44 i agree; i've seen jw's all over the major stations. when i have time i stop and question them. most times they get pissed with my questions. in a few minutes. and tell me to leave.lol i say what this is a public place. and i can stand here as long as i want, and say what i want. i agree they don't seem like thay want to talk to anyone. just stand there like a zombie and collect time, making believe they are doing the preaching work. john

44 was that the full quote? i don't read the voice much, unless i find one on the subway. we have some jw's that can fit that description in my area. we have one old jw that stands one the corner of a gas station. all day almost daily. allways alone he looks like a wooden indian. one morning i saw this jw walking towards the gas station from about mile and 1/2 away. this man has to be atr least 75 years old. i feel sorry for him as he seems alone in a spritual paradise. i stopped asking him wt questions. it amazes he what mind control can do. john

Today's JW Is Yesterday's Failure!!!

lately, i hear more and more "very inactive" jws that haven't gone to a congregation meeting in years, still consider themselves good jws.
they are like "home baptists".

mini makes a good point. i find many jw kid's i've known from years ago. don't go to the hall much if at all. but still call them selves jw's. i find many of these kids at the age of 30-40+ still live with their jw parents i think in my area. it's more like don't ask ,don't tell. just keep your mouth shut my area is mostly black ppl. and i'm not sure if the wt gives them a little leaway. it would seem that way. FAMILY ties seem hard to break in my area. unless your a hardline apostate. it's a very big cong. and i don't think the elders push hard to shun your family here much. even tho i got shunned by my dad, only because i took them all to task. otherwise they have never really bothered me at all. it seems they will over look next to anything here to keep the younger generation , even to semi call themsleves jw's i would say here if they can't put the heavy yoke on your back, they will let you have some rope. john
